Psychology Majors

The pro aging trance is one of the most important issues preventing the mainstream public from embracing and expediting research for human longevity.  If radical human life extension is effectively realized, there will undoubtedly be many social and psychological issues prevalent to society.  We appeal to students of psychology and sociology to investigate these issues.

Students are reminded that under no circumstances are they required to limit themselves to the projects provided.  We actively support students designing and implementing their own project ideas.

Status Project Description Current Students
NEW Evolutionary Psychology:  The student(s) will investigate an issue pertaining to overpopulation concerns if radical human life extension is realized.  Is it the objective of human nature to reproduce to have children and a family, or is it merely sex? From an evolutionary standpoint, one could see that reproduction is important, but as our ancestral history did not have contraception, one would argue that evolution may have placed the emphasis on the action of sexual intercourse itself rather than the desire to reproduce (since at that time having sex MEANT reproducing).
NEW Pro Aging Trance:  Perform a detailed analysis of the pro-aging trance to develop an effective plan to combat it.

NEW Social Issues:  This recurring project invites a wide range of students to perform relevant reading and speculate by means of articles and papers the impact ending aging would have on human society and culture.

*This list is intended for students who are seeking direction in their research or scholastic efforts.  Students are highly encouraged to develop their own topics for review.  While not mandatory, it is highly recommended that projects be run by either the Project Supervisor or the Director of Undergraduate Affairs so that the student may receive credit for their contributions and thereby be eligible for scholarship applications and recognition by MFURI.
